Now this guy had a lot of complications all the way through...mostly it was the "my mom is Visser One" stuff, but then toward the end there was the whole love triangle thing. I wish they had explored it more in the last book.

I do like how he always coped with humor...even if not all the jokes were funny lol

I think Marco's sense of humor and sense of strategy originate in the same place: he's essentially an opportunist. He sees the silver linings, punchlines and weaknesses in the enemy (and when he puts himself in the enemy's position, weaknesses in their strategies) because he's always working an angle to make the best of any situation. Marco's the type who doesn't ask for much so as not to seem needy, but will happily help himself to whatever opportunities present themselves - ref: dragging all that crap in Ax's scoop by #49.

And it is interesting to realise that Marco has had some of the biggest meltdowns in the series - aaaah I think I shall have to go on about this in my own ramblings /TAKES NOTES

And I hadn't thought about the dream imagery either! But there is often that kind of "talking to himself" thing going on with Marco. He's the kind of character where the most interesting stuff going on with him is what's happening inside his head.

Hah, hopefully you will like then! (Oddly enough, I tend to never look at other people's rp characters. I don't know why. However, since I haven't stated this before - I READ YOUR FIC RELIGIOUSLY AND ZOMG IT IS AWESOME I LOVE IT PLEASE DON'T EVER STOOOOOOOOOOP) And we've got a large cast at trans 9 too, with ELFANGOR and LOREN and TOM/INISS and someday I will find a way to kidnap an Eva. I actually just googled "hispanic teenage boy" and grabbed some random kid out of this photographer's print website. I have no clue who he is. Which is, you know, pritz sketchy of me. Who's your PB?

As for the pain of finding PB's, TELL ME ABOUT IT. Trying to play Marco and wanting to set up a journal for Howard Bassem (of Gone) just really really really makes me sad about the lack of actors of color, which is even more difficult turf to mine when you're dealing with child actors.

Finding an Eva is like. MY GOAL IN LIFE. (That, and hoping that someone would appear out of the blue to app Xena. Okay, it'll never happen, BUT I CAN DREAM, CAN'T I?) We never see much interaction between her and Marco post V1's death, and that's something I'd love to play out. ~~Though I'd take Eva with V1 too. Really, Eva is just plain awesome whichever way she comes :P~~

Mine's some actor called Oliver James. Or James Oliver. One or the other. Sadly, his Wikipedia page does not mention race which tends to mean "Caucasion", but he's the best I could find and the expressions are right. ~~So I just pretend he's Hispanic and hope that one day they will make a cartoon so that I may icon the hell out of it~~.

And yes, it is indeed sad ;_; (urgh, and it doesn't help when you have debacles like the who Avatar: TLA thing)

Hmm. Playing Eva is very, very tempting. Especially since I've finished my draft of The Husk and now I miss writing her SO MUCH I DON'T EVEN OH MY GOD. Hmmm.

He does! A little young, but I guess there's wiggle-room. I was so close to just drawing all my icons until I stumbled on that kid.

Oh man, fucking Avatar TLA. As an Asian person myself, my Malaysian bff and I have not stopped cracking jokes about those unrelatable Asians and how white people can't see our souls because our eyes are so squinty ever since those casting directors made those comments. It's seriously one of those cases where if we don't laugh about it, we'll just cry at the sheer amount of stupidity involved. "You wouldn't have complained if they cast black people instead of white people!" HURRRGGHHHH.

Have you seen Donald Glover's campaign to play Spider-Man? The amount of race-wank around the Radical Notion that a black guy wants to play Spider-Man is utterly mindboggling.

I always figured he just had really dark brown hair. Could look black or brown in certain lights, I guess. When I draw I usually draw his hair much darker than Jake's.

And he has an internet campaign going to play Spider-Man ever since Marvel released information that the shortlist for their new Spideys were all white folks. Glover's already a proven actor in the series Community and other TV roles and he is generally awesome.

However, comic boards on the internet have exploded with race-wank ever since he started this campaign, being all "it's not distracting to whitewash but it's totally distracting to blackwash!" and all kinds of HURF DURF stupidity.

Main things to note about the game is that it's log-based, and that apps are every...two months atm, I think. Also, after this next podpop, I beleive we're going to invite-only, since the game's gotten large and the mods want to limit expansion so that plot can get underway. (though if you decided not to app but then decided you wanted to app later, I'd be happy to give you an invite then :P) Next podpop is the end of this month I believe, soooo you'd have until then to think about it and read over things :P

Either way, it means that the fanart depictions are ALL OVER THE PLACE. The others at least generally look at least somewhat similar. Marco? NOT SO.

SHE'S SO COOL I've thought about apping her here and there but never really gone through with it (I have six active characters otherwise so HAHA it would get to be a bit much to keep up with, too). Playing off a Marco would be so great omg, although I'd want to figure it so he somehow couldn't nix Edriss right off the bat. Sad day for you, kid...

Aaah, that is tough. I can only manage three character myself atm. (And yeah, the "not killing Ediss" would be the trickiest part. Especially since at Trans 9...they've actually had a Yeerk attack before, everyone knows about Yeerks and does not like then, and even though Tom/Iniss has managed to Not Be Dead that's only because there are plans for artificial bodies to be made, and when that happens (around January, I think), I imagine the crew would be pretty insistent on Edriss also going into an artificial body. If she was not dead by then. There might be ways to work around it, but yeah. It'd be tricky.
