Summary

It all started with dreams. But Cassie didn’t pay much attention to them. She and her friends had all been having weird dreams ever since they’d first learned to morph. Maybe it was just some crazy side effect.

That’s when Cassie discovered that Tobias has been having the exact same dreams. Dreams about the ocean. And a strange feeling that someone is calling to them. Calling for help.

Now Cassie, Tobias, Jake, Rachel, and Marco have to figure out if the dreams are a message – or a trap. And if it is a trap, it could mean the end – for everyone…

Prompt:
Trust – Create a work that depicts characters having to trust, either themselves or others.

Questions:

- I’m sorry guys, I’ve got nothing this week.

This week has been nuts. I’m sorry this post is late and has no questions. Next week will be better, I promise!

Wow, nobody's posted yet.

And I can't think of anything to say about this book except that when I reread after finishing the series, it seemed weird that they were making a big deal about Marco getting injured as a dolphin and not being able to swim back. Just demorph in the middle of the ocean! But they did end up doing that, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, I thought that too. I actually just posted something in a similar vein on the last book post. Morphing : the solution to injury!

Though as you pointed out, they figured it out pretty quickly.

I can understand that, though. It's the first time that any of them had been seriously injured in morph. The panic probably overwhelmed their common sense.

Rereading these early books made me remember just how half-arsed some of their schemes were.

I love the way dorky Ax is nervous but still kind of arrogant in this book. Also, I always wondered what Ax would have done if the Animorphs hadn't come. It makes sense that he'd stay put while he could - he could have swum out as the shark, but if he did he'd be alone on a foreign planet and thus kind of screwed. I guess he just would have made his escape when it was obvious the Yeerks were coming for him, and hoped for the best.

Oh, and I really liked the scene in this book where Cassie goes round and talks to Marco. It was just nice, you know?

To be fair, he ended up doing just that (swimming out as the shark) in the AU of MM4.

True ... I guess I forgot that when I posted! Not sure why, I loved MM4.

Hmmm...I always thought it was pretty significant that Ax told them that, BTW, it wasn't just the fate of humans that was riding on their shoulders, but the fate of everything on Earth. (Oh, and it the Yeerks manage to take Earth, they'll be pretty much unstoppable.)
