Marco comes face to face with Visser One once again. When push comes to shove, get a goat.

Visser One is back on Earth. Only she's on the run now from Visser Three. They're gearing up for a bit of internal conflict, and the Animorphs are caught in the middle. Marco naturally wants to rescue his mom, but the others say it's too risky. What they do decide to do is enlist, not entirely willingly, Visser One's help to make Visser Three look bad, and at the same time, keep the hork-bajir colony safe.

Once again, Marco thinks his mom is dead in the end...I like the part with him and Rachel at the end, if I haven't mixed my books up.

We learn that the Council of 13 doesn't like how the invasion is going, and that there's trouble for Visser One.

Visser One learns that at least one of the 'Andalite bandits' is human, but they reason she won't reveal this information herself, but will try and use it to discredit V3...so they're safe for the moment.

Didn't the back cover blurb say she wasn't V1 anymore? She's still referred to that way in Visser though...

Anyone have a pic of the alternate cover that existed for this book? Although I guess there aren't many differences, just the ink and the quote.

Marco's mom is back. But she's not Visser One anymore. Marco's not even sure if she's still a controller. But he's determined to find out. No matter what it takes. No matter what might happen, Marco wants his mom back.

Jake, the other Animorphs and Ax realize that Marco is under some serious stress. And that the situation with his mom could very well jeopardize everything they've worked for. Now they also have to wonder if Marco will be the one to give away the secret of the Animorphs...

(wow, I didn't realize I could type blind (staring at the book cover) as well as I just did)

This is one of those ones that I have a hard time bringing myself to re-read now that I've read it once. Mostly because it's somewhat sad I think. I wonder how the others would have reacted, or how one of us would react in a situation like that. I know it wouldn't always be very well.

I do like the idea of trying to make Visser Three look bad to Visser One though.

This book also has some intersting Rachel and Marco interaction in the end.

Prompt...all I can think of is something like 'playing politics' or 'family loyalty'

I feel bad about so often struggling to come up with questions...I love writing the re-reads when the regular host can't make it, but hate that I can't find good questions to ask.

Anyway, you all should know the rules by now.
