The Ellimist didn’t laugh. “Tobias, you are a beginning. You are a point on which an entire time line may turn.”

I want to start this re-read discussion with a question: what are your thoughts about what the Ellimist did for Tobias regarding morphing/being human? Was it fair? Was it what Tobias really wanted? How do you think the series would've been different if Tobias had been changed back to human, with (or even without) the ability to morph?

Also, this was the first time we got a good look at the other half of the Yeerk's shock troops, the Hork Bajir. How did this book change what you thought about them?

Next time: The Andalite Chronicles

So the people have spoken and they want this one lol

Tobias has pretty much gotten used to his life. He's a red-taield hawk with the mind of a kid. It was wierd when he first got trapped in morph. But now it's almost okay. After all, how many kids get the chance to fly?
Now Tobias is about to make a very special choice. A choice that the other Animorphs and Ax know nothing about. And itcould mean the difference between being a hawk...and being human.

Why do you think the Ellmist did things the way he did? We all know he could have made Tobias a morph capable boy again. Although he would have been pressed for a place to live and all that.

I wonder how long it took the Yeerks to find out they'd been tricked. We do know the free hork-bajir started raids to free others.

I notice Tobias mentions the picture of his parents...didn't his fake father leave when he was a baby? Loren gave it to him maybe, before she forgot him? I guess what I really notice is his wishing to be human again yet his human life wasn't all that great...maybe that's why the Ellimist worked things the way he did. To make it easier for Tobias.

I like how the flip book thingy synchs up with the scene of Tobias talking to the Ellimist, so he's half and half in the picture too.

Funny part: "< I am just as peeless as you Tobias my friend > lolol

Didn't someome also mention Tobias's comment about loving Jake sometime back?

Okay, now next week is The Andalite Chronicles lol

Tobias is asked by the Ellimist to help the Hork-Bajir and demands payment in return. But will he get his wish?

Turning points:
-Tobias's morphing power is restored, though he remains a hawk
-We see the beginnings of the free Hork-Bajir

I'm curious about the "point on which a timeline may turn" or something along that line phrase. What do you think it meant? I know that idea will be repeated coming up but I'll hold off on that until next week.

A load of fanfic could be written about Tobias's thoughts re the outcome of this book.

Anyone have any prompts or questions of their own to ask?

You probably know the rules by now...stay civil, keep it to previous or current books, start on topic even though it's okay if you get off topic...

Remember next week is the Andalite Chronicles, not number 14. That one comes the week after.
