Hello my lovely Ani-people,

I've just created kamg_weekly_100, a drabble comm for works by Michael Grant and K.A. Applegate. One prompt will be posted per week; the next post will be up Friday 24 August AEST. Come and join, and recruit all your LJ friends who aren't in this comm! :)

Yeah, I feel like they might see the humour in really cracky, meta crossover-RPF, like "Michael Grant becomes the Ellimist", or something. But with *actual* RPF it's best to play it safe :)

On another note, I'm so happy to be in a fandom where the authors appreciate the fanfic (okay, some of it) and the fans, and the fact that, hey, people love their work and put time and effort into producing these amazing novel-length stories. Yeah, Tolkien Estate, looking at you. *glares* Go ahead and say you don't endorse fanfic, but don't act like JRRT and his works are some sort of immutable canon. Because, really, they're not.

/rant, sorry. Their attitude to fanfic pisses me off just a little.

Oh, I'm not RPFer at all--I just love, love, love Applegrant's open appreciation of their readers and fan and ability not to take themselves too seriously. Such awesome people.

I bet they would love "Michael Grant becomes the Ellimist" (especially because then Marco would essentially become the Ellimist, which... awesome!)

Oh, awesome! This reminds me, I should read Everworld and Remnants. Always meant to but I never got around to it. Though I did check out some of KAA's teen romance stuff.
