In my hunt to determine where the chipper Anifolks live, I think I've narrowed it down to two Californian cities: One San Diego (probably too far from any governor's mansion) and one random NoCal city near Vallejo, CA Oakland, CA and San Francisco, CA.
Now, I am well aware that this city doesn't exist and it's intentionally fuzzied up in the books to make it difficult to locate.
There is a Gardens like theme park in Vallejo, CA approximately half an hour away from an airport featured in some of the books. Now, tons of cities have zoos, for example, cue the San Francisco Zoo but not all of them have rides. This is the most ridesygardenslikezooplace I could think of located in California.
There is also a marina, so it's near the ocean, but by the bay?
In No.Cali, there is no dearth of valleys/mountains, and there's even a very large Redwood Forest. It's much more difficutl to find stuff like that in the flatter drier, southern california.
The only problem, then, would be tall buildings. But there are sufficiently tall buildings in San Francisco? (about 40 minutes away) and possibly even film studios in San Francisco. But then we also need to find a beach...which shouldn't be too difficult? Is it believeable that World Leaders would meet in San Francisco? If they did, it wouldn't be by a beach, would it?
It is an hour from that city/nearby area to the state capital.
The second option would be San Diego, home of Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, two very very very nice places to snag morphs. There are tons of beaches in San Diego, although it seems strange that world leaders would decide to meet there. There are some tall buildings in San Diego, but not super many, for that you need Los Angeles, a good two-three hour drive away? a bird's eye view of San Diego near it's airport, *squints to spot foresty meadows*
Aha! San Diego is um, relatively close to the Cleveland National Forest, which is happily home to many different animals, including everyone's favorite Red Tailed Hawk. ^_^
Of course, red tailed hawks are found in Northern California, too, so that isn't much of a lead. But um, yeah. *spent a half an hour squeeing over pictures of red tailed hawks* They're actually kind of chubby and and um, here's a link to red tail hawk noises (so that's what TSEEER sounds like. Hmm.) Cute chubby birdies.
Found this depressing news story too, which explains a lot about the whole *hey let's chase each other into power lines, rawr, rawr i'm david the evil animorph* stuff.
Go here to read up on these two places yourself, and tell me what you think. (god, I'm bored)
San Diego
Vallejo (I don't think it's exactly Vallejo, but if it is NoCal, it must be somewhere nearby)

Date: 2004-10-04 01:40 am (UTC)Jake mentions that the park closest to them is the "Gardens," and being a roller coaster junkie, I know that there is a "Busch Gardens" in "Florida" and "Virginia." They both have some really nice coasters as well as a great zoo!
Though, it'd be cool if they were in California, because I'm a cali gal!
