Okay, so, I know I have nothing worthwhile to post here ever, so you guys never see me, but. An Animorphs-centric email was going around, and Lisa referred to the Yeerks as the Evil Yucks, which I thought was kind of ridiculous, and suggested that we had been Disney-fied or Seuss-ified, since the good doctor does tend towards strange names like that. I made a Seuss-explanation for Yeerks by that name to prove my point, and since I am being demanded to post it here:

The Evil Yuck! The Evil Yuck!
It leaps for your ear while it hides in the muck.
It controls your body, and it's manners quite suck!
It steals your whole life, though you show so much pluck--
And there's no way to hide, not even run or duck!
So beware, beware, my fine young friends--of the Evil, Evil Yuck!

HAHA.

Years after the war, you KNOW they made rhyming picture books with Visser 3 and our Anis. :D

I think we need some Seussian illustrations to go with this!

This is how I know that all of my friends were English majors: my first thought upon reading this was, "hmm, it doesn't quite scan, but she did reproduce the Seussian rhythm pretty well". (One of my English major friends wrote an entire play in Seussian rhyme for the circus performance group she led. I was one of her editors and performed in the show, and I swear she had started speaking in trisyllabic meter by the time we actually got to the show.)

If you didn't have access to any Dr. Seuss books, that really does make it more impressive -- the friend who wrote the play spent probably a solid 8-10 hours over the course of a few afternoons in the children's section of the local library reading Dr. Seuss books out loud to herself and notating the meters, rhyme schemes, use of alliteration, etc. (She's currently in her last semester of an MA in Creative Writing, and I'm pretty sure she sent the play in as part of her application portfolio. She certainly put enough work into it.) If you're really interested, I might have a copy of the script floating around on my hard drive that I could send you (with the author's permission, of course).

Sadly, I too have no art skills, but I could tweak the scan, if you're really okay with it.
