Now this guy had a lot of complications all the way through...mostly it was the "my mom is Visser One" stuff, but then toward the end there was the whole love triangle thing. I wish they had explored it more in the last book.

I do like how he always coped with humor...even if not all the jokes were funny lol

Oh, poor Cassie.

Didn't she already get comm!raped fairly recently? So not fair to the Cassie fans for it to possibly happen again so soon. ;)

:< Maybe it's stupid to say, but I frankly don't know why people don't like Cassie. Or understand why some fans say she's weak. Sure as hell doesn't seem like that to me. Feel like filling me in?

I imagine we'll get into it next week, but the main reason for it is the fact that the ghostwriters really didn't get her character and tended to make her more two dimensional and strawman-like than she actually is, and that her moral views tend to be polarisinPr

OH, okay. :D Yeah, I understand ghostwriter ISSUES. :< They kind of have a special way of ruining everyone.

Honestly, I really like Cassie. Probably because she's the one I'm most similar to, har. I'm such a damn dirty hippie it's ridiculous, and I love that there IS someone who considers the big ethical issues and shit. And is always trying to be better than the people they fight.

(That and... x3 When I was a kid, I thought her morphing talent was the coolest thing EVER. And wanted it. Almost as much as I wanted to be able to morph in the first place. WHAT AN AMAZINGLY COOL FORM OF ART. HFOMGHGOMG.)

:< And to anyone who says she's weak, I say, "Fine, YOU turn into a wolf and fight an eight-foot weed-whacker with blades out its ass, AND WIN. Yeah. I didn't think so."

I don't get it either, especially the people who wish she was never a character or had been killed off. There are moments when I want to bitchslap her (#28, #41), but overall I think she adds a lot to the series, is an interesting foil for Rachel and Marco, and generally introduced a lot of the morally complex ideas that the series is so beloved for.

I mean, of course she's got her stupid moments, but I think she's a very realistic depiction of a teenage girl trying to reconcile her emotions and beliefs with what's required of her.

But we'll save this for the Cassie thread!
