[identity profile] acridmelanthe.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] animorphslj
Impatient creature I am, I decided to jump based on four comments. Rash, I know. So, here's the update: I need to know these things from potential players:

1. I would like to know how many people have read Miss Lott's ending. If you have not, do you plan to or would you if the RP was based on it?

2. How are you used to RPing? Give me a sample post in your comment. I don't care who the character is or what the situation, I just want a post-sample.

3. Would you rather RP on LJ or using a message board? How about RPOL? (If you haven't heard of rpol that's okay, I'm just testing the waters)

4. How often would you be able to post, that is, how much time can you commit to the game?

Please give your answers in a comment. Thank you kindly.

1. No and no. But a summary would be nice if that's what you're going to base it on.

2. Usually do it over LJs and IMing.

3. Message boards are better if you can't get everyone together at the same time. LJs are better if you're going to do the bulk of it over IM and just want a place to post the logs. Personaly, I like the LJ/IM method better.

4. I can dedicate about an hour a day to do whatever I please, so if it's a board I can post about once a day. If it's LJ I can make it to a scheduled session, but don't spend a lot of time just sitting around waiting for people to pop up. I've seen these work better if there's a set time once or twice a week for everyone to get together and RP en mass and make it part of their routine.

Hope it all works out. I'd really like to play.

[livejournal.com profile] animorphs_rpg had a good start, just couldn't really get off the ground. [livejournal.com profile] morphlogs, too.

Mission of the Seer (http://shadowclaw.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=animorphs) is a good combo of boards and IM. Extreme Ani RPG (http://www.extremeanirpg.org/) is probably the biggest RPG on a message board I've run across.

1. I haven't, and I probably won't, but I'd read a synopsis so I'd unserstand the plot.

2. The only RP format I've used so far is LJ-style. I'm willing to use a message board, but I'm not very open to IM.

3. LJ.

4. Hmm. An hour a day.

Also, relax XD Let's have some fun!

1. I haven't read it, but I would. I would be up for any Animorphs RP, alternate universe or otherwise, so long as it wasn't crossover.

2. I've done a fair amount of RPing in the past. Most of what I've done was with a Dragonriders of Pern rp, but I have some Animorphs experience, too. Here's a sample livejournal post I made for Marco when I applied to a different rp about a year ago:

Subject: Rumors- creating and dispelling them
Mood: Busy
Music: “In Due Time” -Submersed

All right. First thing’s first. There are some rumors going around that my show is being cancelled. Not true. We’re just getting moved off of Sunday nights. Look for Nick Lang every Monday, 6:30 pm, EST on FOX.

So, we wrapped filming today on the episode of Smallville I’m guest starring in. I can’t say too much, but as you can probably infer, I play a shapeshifter. Good, evil? You’ll have to see. All I’ll say about that is even though Clark Kent eventually defeats me, I’m still secure in my masculinity because I know that Clark could also beat Bruce Wayne with both hands tied behind his back. No worries.
Originally, the script called for me to morph a tiger, but I told them a big no on that one for two reasons:
A) If they want Jake, they need to call Jake.
B) I can’t just acquire a tiger, morph it for the first time, and get hooked up to wirework. I don’t know how to control a tiger, and it’s
freaking dangerous. Try to make it mad by hooking it up to wires and
swinging it around? No way. Big Jim and I, though, we’ve got an understanding. I don’t even have to think about controlling him anymore.
So I got the script changed.
Interesting fact, though: the producers thought that actual morphing was too gross, so they took a still of me human, a still of me morphed, and then digitally added their own, WB-morphing. Wusses.

Sooo, while we were filming today, I got to talking to one of the
model/actresses that was an extra in the episode. She was pretty. Tall, blonde, hot, nice boobs. You know, my type. I think her name is Elena? I took her out to dinner. Some members of the tabloid were tipped off found us by chance and there may or may not have been some incriminating pictures taken of me making out with a very very hot model/actress. Oops.
Bad tabloid press!
Haha.
She gave me her number, which is good, because when the issue hits the
stands Kelli’s probably going to break up with me. No big. It’s nice to have a waiting list of model/actresses wanting to be my girlfriend.

I tried to engage Wetherbee in a game of b-ball today. Let’s face it.
Wetherbee sucks. I beat him by so much that it wasn’t even fun. [Bad username or site: ”xballhog” @ livejournal.com], I know you’re there. I see you post sometimes. Call me, man! Sure, I could call up Shaq or MJ, but let’s face it, trash talking them while we play just isn’t the same.

Gotta run. I’ve got a meeting with my stock broker.

Call me,
MARCO

Give me a round of applause? 8 rounds of applause
(end sample)

3. I've mostly done message boards, but I really like the livejournal aspect, too. Mostly because if everyone else is being boring and not doing anything, you can write up a personal post for fun. I don't really know what RPOL is.

4. I could engage in rp sessions daily. I've been looking for something else to do to help me kick my Kingdom of Loathing habit.

1. I tried to read it, but my computer would not let me. D: However I am really good at picking up storylines, or can ask my friend to copy/paste for me. :3

2. Umm, I'll include a sample post at the end. >>;

3. Haven't heard of RPOL, but I'd prefer LJ, with chats over AIM or YIM, or even IRC.

4. If the game is really active, then I stay really active. I'm on almost every night so I always check out whatever role-plays I'm involved in and respond accordingly.

Sample Post (vampire):

It was an unusually quiet night for the city. The bright moon shone down upon the few people that walked the streets; mostly drug-dealers, drunks, or the occasional cop. It created dark shadows for stray cats lurking, waiting to catch the large mice that infested abadoned apartment buildings.
One, a scraggly calico, was about ready to pounce. The mouse had no idea that it's every move was being watched as it sniffed about the trash that littered the alley. And, ever so slowly, the cat crept closer.
Mildly amused by this, a dark haired girl sat on the railing of a porch next to the alley, feet dangling off the ground. Her pale skin stood out against the long black skirt and shirt she wore and made her look like a porcelain doll. She sat just as still as one would upon a dresser, unmoving, not even to blink.
"Kaye." A young man with skin just as ghostly as hers appeared, coming out from the alley. Only he had golden hair and wore a suit.
She shifted a bit, seeming to come out of a daze when he spoke her name. "What do you want?" There was an underlying tone of irritation as she replied.
He walked towards the porch, and the cat went running behind a trash can. "You haven't checked in in a while," he remarked.
Kaye only scowled. "You scared the poor thing." She hopped down from the railing, not making a noise as her feet hit the ground and walked over to where the cat hid.
The young man rolled his eyes. "Will you answer me?"
She reached behind the trash can carefully, and pulled the dirty cat out, cooing quietly to it. "Can't you mind your own business, Thomas? I'll check in soon enough." Kaye held the cat to her, stroking it, and the poor creature seemed to be in a daze.
Thomas sighed. "Alright...whatever you say...just don't come screeching to me if you get in trouble," he snapped.
"Like I would go complaining to you," she snorted, and pulled a red ribbon from her hair, dangling it in front of the cat. It didn't really seem amused by it, though, still in a daze.
"Kaye, put that filthy cat down will you?" Thomas seemed a bit miffed at the lack of attention he was receiving; he was the type who always liked to be in the spotlight.
"No," she said shortly, and turned on her rather annoying friend. She walked off, still trying to entice the cat with the ribbon. It wasn't responding...but Kaye supposed she could always try choking the cat to get a reaction from it.

1. I've not read it, but plan on reading it during work next week. *hehehe*

2. As I posted before, I've RP'd on AIM/AOL chat rooms, via e-mail, and on a message board. I started a FanFic awhile back (well, restarted, and I plan on RE-restarting it soon, and actually finishing it). You can read a sample of it HERE (http://the-travelers.livejournal.com/). (I'm going to restart it soon, so I'lll be deleting the old entries and posting the fixed-up newer ones soon.

3. I'm up for any type of RPing.

4. Well, I work 6hrs a day/5 days a week, so I can probably commit a couple hours a day.

Uhm... Anything else? XD
