Considering your title, it occurs to me that even Rachel's "Woohoo, attack things!" tendency was pretty subdued compared to the B-movie, Independence Day style of defeating aliens. Especially because, IIRC, after this book, she doesn't really do stuff like that (or at least not alone -- I suppose you could sort of count the turning into mice with Cassie thing) (or at least not in morph -- the crocodile thing wasn't exactly subtle).
