Well, possibly. I just know that was the case in Remnants. They also removed all reference to homosexuality from Tate's character, which just made her...awkward and lonely.
In Remnants, 2Face gets an inner monologue about how because she's disfigured, she needs to make another person the outcast so it doesn't happen to her. She considers going by race and fingering the Indian guy whose name I can't remember, but then remembers that both Tate and Tamara are black and unlikely to respond well to racist accusations. Then she considers going anti-Semetic but remembers that while D-Caf Melman (<3) is a loser, team leader Wylson is also Jewish. I think she considers going after Tate for being gay, too, but that got cut as well. It was a really great scene that really highlighted the sticky situation 2Face was in and showed how sickened she felt with herself for sinking to base discrimination to survive. But naturally, it got axed and 2Face just came across looking like a psycho.
