Weren't they more locally famous? I mean, admittedly it was a very localised invasion (which I didn't realise until re-reads as an adult, like okay Yeerks, you might not have yeerk-chickens but you still should know not to put all your eggs in one basket)), but I thought maybe they were not exactly SUPER DOOPER WORLD FAMOUS #1 OF ALL TIME celebrities? I mean, people do amazingly heroic stuff - even amazingly heroic stuff that has huge consequences - all the time. A lot of the fame comes from spin. That or I'm an idiot, you know, whatever.
