What would you do if you were the only alien trapped on a strange planet? Probably freak out, right? But as an Andalite warrior-cadet, Ax has to be pretty cool about stuff like that. He's been hanging with the Animorphs ever sense the Dome ship was destroyed by the Yeerks and his brother Prince Elfangor was destroyed by Visser Three.
Life on Earth is pretty different for Ax. But there is one thing he, Cassie, Marco, Jake, Rachel and Tobias have in common. Something that they have to do: Stop the Yeerks.
So we have the first Ax book. I do find it interesting to read his struggling to find the right thing to do. Although later on we'll see a few complaints as he makes some not-so-good choices...
The scene in the movie theater is funny. I'm surprised that despite reading the book Friday night it didn't come to mind in the theater yesterday. Although I'd love to see his reaction to the 3d glasses for the movies that're out today. BTW anyone get an "eww gross" feeling with the mention of vinegar as a drink? Yuck lol
This book has the famous "you can't tell unless you're an Andalite" reference.
What's with the Yeerk appearing to feel love for another Yeerk? Was that ever shown any other time? I didn't even think of Visser that way, really. Or did the future V1 and V3 experience some of the same thing?
Too bad they couldn't have rescued Alloran while they were at it. I guess they didn't have time to drag him away and keep the Yeerks from looking for him.
Do you think Ax's incident with Marco's dad's software led to the big Z-space discovery in #45?
I notice some subtle differences between this cover illustration and later illustrations of Ax. Different artist, I guess.
I loved finding this book secondhand not only in great shape but with the bookmarks still inside. (Ax: < Bookmarks are not to be eaten. Although they taste quite good. >)
Next week: The Secret
