Location: Alabama, and every three years(or so it seems) France Something unique about you: I taught the kids I babysit both how to bake cookies, and how to lightsaber duel.
Fandoms:Animorphs(duh), Heroes, Firefly, Doctor Who, Smallville(seasons1-4), Veronica Mars, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Arrested Development, HP, PotC, Tomorrow, Star Wars, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Jurassic Park...the list goes on and on...
Favorite Characters: Marco and Rachel
Least Favorite Characters: Cassie often gets on my nerves.
Favorite Ships: Marco/Rachel, Tobias/Rachel, and I probably shouldn't even get into my favorite ships for all those fandoms. I tend to go either very canon, or very so-wrong-and-not-canon-it's-right. I'm cool with slash for the most part, but I don't get OTP about it. Except maybe for Mylar from Heroes--but that's practically canon anyways...
Least Favorite Ships: any Ax slash, Dumbledore/anyone, Peter Petrelli/anyone
Favorite Music: currently: Adele, Yellowcard, Houston Calls, Cake, Poe, The Whitlams, Regina Spektor, Katie Melua, Raphael, Indochine, Goo Goo Dolls, Savage Garden, Mindy Smith, Hawksley Workman, instrumental strings (esp. cello), High School Musical 2 (don't judge me!), just about anything if I'm in the right mood for it.
Favorite Books: Aside from the obvious, there's the Tomorrow series by John Marsden(it's like a more grown-up Animorphs set in Australia, sans aliens), anything by Margaret Atwood or Christopher Moore, The Historian, The Sparrow, The Accidental Time Machine; really, I'm not terribly picky, and I'm always on the lookout for new stuff to read. Dystopian lit is always appealing.
Favorite Movies: Moulin Rouge, La Vita E Bella, L'Auberge Espagnole, Can't Hardly Wait, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Princess Bride(really, who doesn't like that movie?), Children of Men, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Hocus Pocus, The Librarian: Quest for the Spear, Batman Begins, Kung Fu Panda, Emma, Red Eye, National Treasure, EuroTrip, Serenity, Signs...I like a lot of movies.
Favorite Celebrities:Ewan McGregor, Cillian Murphy, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Nicole Kidman, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Keira Knightly, Romain Duris, Jane Fonda, Jodie Foster
Other interests: Photography, traveling, writing, French (and other foreign languages), being a grad student, my spoiled demon cat Veronica(born on 6/6/06), cooking, politics (I'm a progressive democrat trapped in one of the reddest states in the country--I have to keep myself informed to survive), singing, Rotary International, NaNoWriMo, velociraptors, coffee, wine(primarily French, Spanish, and New Zealand vintages), being awesome
What do you look for in a livejournal friend? Some similar interests, someone who updates on a somewhat regular basis, someone who comments occasionally(I promise to comment, too!), and someone who doesn't mind my occasional random rants.
Please do not add me if... you're intolerant, homophobic (I am not gay but many of my very good friends are), a religious zealot of any faith, or will otherwise harsh the mellow by being disagreeable or mean. I'm sure most of you aren't/wouldn't anyways.
Journal Status (public, friends-only, semi-pulbic):Permanently f-locked and filtered, because I substitute teach and will eventually teach full-time, and no students need to wander onto my journal one day.
What do you post about?: Day-to-day stuff, random fics, the occasional rant, fun memes...typical LJ type posts for the most part.
Anything Else?: Hope you have a splendiforous day?
Whoo!
