Hello everyone! I'm Blue, and this series was almost my entire life when I was younger. I stumbled across the books sometime before I was eleven, promptly got hooked, and proceeded to get my brother and sister hooked as well. Alas, despite fervently buying each new book when it came out for a very long time, I read The Ellimist Chronicles, got really very depressed at the thought of one of the characters I loved so much dying, and didn't finish the series.
But, recently I opened up the box filled with my old Animorphs books, and start re-reading. And re-reading. And not doing much else, really. And then, when I got to the point where I didn't actually have the book that came next, I started anxiously trying to find a way to get my hands on the books that didn't involve importing them from overseas at ridiculous shipping prices. Thank god for ebay!
So, now at age 22, I finally read the end of the series that pretty much defined my children. And yes, I cried. Even though I already knew some of what was going to happen, thanks to the internet.
And it's so strange, looking at the series with older eyes. I suspect that younger-me would have been positively crushed by the ending. And Tobias used to be my favourite character (possibly because #3 was the first I read. Or, more likely, the angst XD), but I now find Marco much more interesting. And I seriously wish there were more Ax books!
And, because I am having way too much fun reliving my childhood, here I am, to hunt down fanfiction and to generally revel in the fact that there are other people who love this series as well. I'm also hoping to try to find somewhere to roleplay one of the characters (probably Marco), because clearly the world needs more Animorphs.
So. Now that I've rambled on for long enough, I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and following the com! o/
