If someone told you Earth was under a silent attack, there's a good chance you'd think they were pretty strange. If the same person said Earth's only means of defense depends on the actions and powers of five kids, you'd probably start to look for a quick exit. Guess what, it's all true.
Rachel and her friends knew they were in for some pretty strange stuff from the very beginning. How often do you un into a dying alien who gives you the power to morph into any animal you touch? But that was before they knew what they would be up against. Now they know. And they know what they have to do. Before it's too late...

I always wished Melissa would have been given a bigger role in the series myself.  She's mentioned a few times later and pops up maybe once or twice, not counting the alternate world in MM3.  Do you think she should have had a bigger role?

How does the Chapman we see here compare to the bratty Hendrick in ANdalite Chronicles? I bet he's really sorry by this time lol.  What's the timeline anyway...he sold out the human race, then got taken back to Earth with Loren, got married, had a kid, then got infested? Or his wife did first, then him.

Thoughts on Rachel's near-public morph scene? And she isn't the only one who did it...it's wierd that Marco talks about it but then does it himself a couple books later.

Funny line: Rachel telling Marco he'd be unable to impress a girl because he'd eventually have to morph back to his real self. I can't recall the exact line at the moment.

Did they release this book and The Encounter together? All three are listed on the title list in front of this book.

I think this is the last book apart from the final one that uses head only morphs on the cover. It also drops the six morph line from book 1 and goes with three intermediate morphs between human and animal stage.

Re the shrew, shouldn't she have felt some anger or something? Aren't shrews supposed to be really mean things?

Note that Tobias says getting stuck isn't always fun...either KAA was adding to the ambiguity(sp?) or just writing Tobias as having had a few second thoughts now that it's too late.

The scene with Chapman being allowed to talk to the Visser is creepy.  I like how he fights a lot though. Too bad they never brought it up again later.

Hey this is kinda an appropriate book for today given the whole father aspect of the storyline. (it's father's day in the USA)

Prompt....a parent's love

Next week-The Encounter
