I'm finding the same problem right now in the Doctor Who fandom. Between Rose and Amy (my two favorite characters) I just about want to kick some virtual ass. EVERY character has strengths and flaws. When a male character has them, they're celebrated as "Well written" and "well rounded" but, if a girl even has SIMILAR flaws the term tends to come off as "bitch". It's saddening really. I love a different opinion as much as the next woman; but it gets to a point where I get incredibly frustrated with the continual mocking of one character. D:
