Kind of trivial but...

I'm kind of an Animorphs newbie. I've read books here and there, but this is the first time I've had to read the series all the way through. I'm near the beginning and recently read The Encounter and The Message for the first time. I enjoyed the books, except for one thing.

In both books, they think they are going to die. And in both books, two similar exchanges take place.
