So after 2 years of repeatedly suggesting and sweet-talking our collection managers and directors, our library system FINALLY (!!!) has the first 7 Animorphs books! They're the "new" editions w/the trippy covers, but *shrug*. Anyways, this is my display sign for it: )
Let me know what you think!

"Marco never wanted to be an Animorph. He didn’t want the ability to change into any animal he touches. And he certainly didn’t want to be one of a handful of kids that are the planet’s only defense against a secret alien army. His friends know why he feels the way he does. He’s worried about his dad — the only family Marco has left. If anything happens to him, his father will be alone. But something big is about to change for Marco. Something that could finally give him a reason to fight."

I must admit this one's a favourite of mine - it's the first time we really start to get a good look at Marco, we've got the introduction of Visser One, and some good old fashioned nightmare fuel. There's definitely a lot going on with this book - so, what do you think about the events of #5?

Hey guys, just wanted to update y'all on my Animorphs comic's progress because I'm ridonk excited about this latest page. So far, I'm 25 pages into drawing the comic and the nightmare sequence is easily the thing I'm most proud of. Besides, it's the first page I mix the media, I think.

Louder, Marco, I can't hear you.

Comments always appreciated! I'm just getting started on drawing the capture scene 2/3rds of the way through the book, by the way.

It seems people are posting some beautiful art here lately (lookit that Andalite! :D), and I was planning on loading these this month anyway, so. For the last six months, I've been drawing a graphic novel version of Animorphs #5: The Predator with traditional media. I'm currently twenty pages in, a little over halfway through, and have decided that since that's a pretty large backlog, now's as good a time as any to start hosting the comic.

Those of you who follow my DeviantArt have already seen the unlettered pages, but [ profile] faux_folklore is doing an amazing job putting the script to the images. I'll be updating every Saturday with a new page.

As a note, the first few pages were drawn six months ago, so...I've improved greatly since then, and the character designs have solidified a lot further.

Marco never wanted to be an Animorph. He never wanted the ability to change into any animal he touched. He just wants to chill. Whatever happens, happens.
Jake, Rachel, Cassie and Tobias know why Marco feels the way he does. He's worried about his dad, the only family Marco has left. And if anything happens to him, his father will be all alone.
But something is about to change Marco's mine. It seems the Yeerks have a little surprise waiting fo r him. Andf it's definitely not nice.
Now Marco has a reason to fight.

Here we see Marco doing what I referred to a couple weeks back, using his morph to save someone. Good idea or bad?

I think it's too bad they weren't able to rescue Eva until they did, but I guess it progressed okay. We got some good books out of it later. The Escape, The Revelation...

Would Marco have been persuaded to fight, do you think, if it weren't for the situation with his mother?

I do have to give a nod to the RAF re-read for ideas for this one, I was totally blank for some reason. But the questions aren't just copied, especially the second one is changed a bit.

Here's one...why do you think they gave Visser One a human body as opposed to another species?  It definately made things stick out more, made it more of a conflict and more interesting.

In the series re-read, we're on book number 5 this week. It's The Predator, the one where Marco turns into a gorilla on the cover. I'm not writing out any specific discussion prompts, just a reminder of where we're at. Discuss whatever about it that you like.

Here's the spoiler-iffic Wikipedia entry about this book.
